Hello! My name is Megan McKenzie and I am a sophomore journalism student at Point Park University. I have a passion for education and writing. I have created this website as a final assignment for my Web Publishing I class. I chose the topic of mental health awareness not only because I believe it is a very important topic, but because research has shown that education can reduce stigma surrounding it.
An article published in the Official Journal of the World Psychiatric Association (WPA) stated that “there is evidence that individuals who possess more information about mental illness are less stigmatizing than individuals who are misinformed about mental illness.”
